What Is The Handbag Code
My name is Barbara Jarrin, and The Handbag Code is my personal blog where I share my perspective on handbags, luxury, design, and the lifestyle around them.
I come from a background in marketing, fashion, and luxury, which probably explains why I naturally pay attention to the details behind certain bags and brands…the design decisions, the craftsmanship, the positioning, the trends, and why some bags become iconic while others quietly fade away.
What interests me even more, though, is the relationship we build with handbags over time. Some bags represent milestones, some become part of our daily routines, some make us feel more confident, and others we simply fall in love with because of the design itself. Sometimes the connection is emotional, sometimes aspirational, sometimes practical…and most of the time it’s a mix of all of it. That side of luxury has always fascinated me, and it’s something I love exploring here.
Over time, I realized I genuinely love talking about all of it. The trends, the styling, the history behind certain bags, the new shapes emerging, the colors, the proportions, the feeling a bag gives an outfit, and even the way a bag changes depending on where you take it.
Here, I share everything from bag reviews and trend observations to travel bags, seasonal favorites, styling ideas, iconic pieces, and guides that hopefully help you discover bags you truly love or understand luxury handbags in a more real and approachable way.
I also share a lot of the life happening around all of this. I travel often, love beautiful hotels and cities, spend a lot of time cycling and taking my bike to incredible places, and I naturally end up experiencing handbags through all those moments too. I think seeing a bag in real life says so much more than seeing it perfectly styled in a campaign.
More than anything, I want this space to feel inspiring, useful, personal, and easy to enjoy whether you already love handbags or you’re just starting to pay closer attention to them.
I’m really happy you’re here.
With love, Barbara.
