Inside the Audemars Piguet House in Hong Kong at The Henderson
During our trip to Hong Kong in February, we decided to stop by the Audemars Piguet House at The Henderson. We've always loved the brand, and since the AP House in Mexico City is usually our go-to whenever we're looking for a new piece, we were excited to experience one of their houses in a city as impressive as Hong Kong.
And Hong Kong really is impressive. The skyline almost feels unreal, with skyscrapers everywhere and so much energy packed into one place. There are actually two AP Houses in the city. This time, we chose the one at The Henderson, right in the middle of Central and the financial district. There's another one at K11 Musea with beautiful views over Victoria Harbour, which looked equally tempting, but we'll save that for our next visit.
The Henderson itself is stunning. The architecture alone is worth seeing, and walking into the AP House feels like stepping away from the pace of the city. The space is warm and inviting, with beautiful displays, cozy lounge areas, a bar, and a long dining table that makes the whole place feel much more like a residence than a boutique.
One detail I still remember was the sweets cart. Yes, an actual cart filled with desserts and little treats. We sat down, had some delicious tea, and somehow ended up spending much more time there than we expected. I think we probably spent almost as much time enjoying tea and sweets as we did admiring the watches. But that's what I love about these spaces. The best memories aren't always about the pieces themselves.
What I appreciate most about AP Houses is that they never feel transactional. You don't necessarily have to walk in looking for a watch. They're beautiful places to spend some time, catch up, and appreciate craftsmanship in a more relaxed setting.
Hong Kong itself left us wanting more, and so did AP House. Next time, we'll definitely stop by K11 Musea.
