Barbara Jarrin is the founder of The Handbag Code, a personal space where handbags are explored through design, styling, and everyday life.
“I’ve always been someone who loves creating.
I love traveling, cycling, moving, building things, and figuring out how to live a life that feels balanced, inspiring, and mine.
Somewhere along the way, handbags became part of that world.
Not just as objects, but as something I interact with every single day.
I’ve spent years working across fashion, marketing, and product development in different markets, and at one point built my own handbag brand, which gave me a deeper understanding of what goes into creating something that actually resonates.
But beyond all of that, handbags have always been personal.
You take them everywhere.
You choose them carefully.
You style them without even thinking sometimes.
And those small decisions… say a lot.
Because the moment you decide you want something, whether it’s a bag or something bigger, that decision carries more than it seems.
It means working for it.
Growing into it.
Sometimes doubting it.
Sometimes not getting it right.
But also feeling proud when you do.
That process is part of life.
And to me, handbags sit right inside of it.
The Handbag Code is my space to explore that.
A space where bags are at the center of what drives me, but never the only thing. Because the way we carry a bag is connected to how we live, where we’re going, what we’re building, and who we’re becoming.
Here, I share the bags I love, the ones I wear on repeat, the ones I’m thinking about, and the ones I’m still dreaming of, along with the brands behind them and the decisions that make them interesting.
But also everything around them.
Style.
Travel.
Routine.
Growth.
Because to me, handbags are part of a much bigger picture.
If you’re here, I hope it inspires you to follow your own ideas, your own curiosity, and your own version of what a big life looks like.”
